Hey music lovers!  Fancy a trip to the Emerald Isle with a side of seriously awesome tunes? Ireland's music festival scene is buzzing, from epic headliners to cosy boutique gatherings, there's something to get everyone's feet tapping.  As a seasoned festival-goer (10 years under my belt!), I'm here to give you the lowdown on the best music festivals Ireland has to offer, plus some handy tips for making the most of your experience.

 

So, whether you're dreaming of belting out your favourite anthems alongside thousands of others, or chilling out with some trad music in a historic pub, grab a cuppa and let's dive in!

 

Electric Picnic (Stradbally, Co. Laois)

Ireland’s biggest and most famous music festival, Electric Picnic, draws huge crowds every year with its stellar line-up of international headliners, indie bands and electronic acts. It’s not just about the music – expect immersive art installations, comedy tents and wellness areas. If you're looking for a Glastonbury-style festival with an Irish twist, Electric Picnic is your go-to. In 2025, the festival is happening from 29th to 31st of August.

 

 

Thinking of going? Be sure to book your tickets ASAP! This one sells out fast. You might also want to look into luxury camping options at Electric Picnic if you fancy a bit of glamping.

 

St. Patrick's Festival (Dublin)

While not strictly a music festival, St. Patrick's Festival is a massive celebration of Irish culture and music plays a huge part!  Expect traditional music sessionslively street performances and a fantastic atmosphere throughout the city.  It's a brilliant time to visit Dublin and experience the craic! From the 15th to the 17th of March, now is, definitely, the last chance to book your stay to enjoy it in Dublin!

 

Forbidden Fruit (Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin)

Want a festival experience without venturing too far from the city? Forbidden Fruit is your answer.  Held in the stunning grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, this city festival is super accessible and offers a fantastic mix of electronic, indie and alternative music. It's perfect for a day (or two!) of musical bliss.  Catch it on the Bank Holiday Weekend of July 31st to 1st of August.  For those travelling from afar, exploring Dublin city centre hostels near Forbidden Fruit might be a smart move.

  

 

 

Dublin Jazz Festival (Dublin)

Jazz aficionados, rejoice! This festival brings together incredible musicians from Ireland and beyond, performing across various venues in Dublin.

 

All Together Now (Curraghmore Estate, Co. Waterford)

For a more relaxed festival experience, All Together Now blends music, arts, theatre and spoken word. Its picturesque setting at Curraghmore Estate attracts a more mature crowd looking for a laid-back vibe. It will happen on Bank Holiday Weekend of May 31st to June 1st.

TradFest Temple Bar (Temple Bar, Dublin)

If traditional Irish music is your thing, TradFest is the place to be. Held in the heart of Dublin's Temple Bar, this festival showcases the best of Irish folk music in historic venues and lively pubs. It's a fantastic way to experience the authentic sounds of Ireland with 30+ venues, 150+ artists, 100+ events and 13+ funders and supporters. In 2026, it will happen during 21st and 25th of January.

 

Beyond The Pale (Glendalough, Co. Wicklow)

This relative newcomer to the scene is making waves. Combining music, art and wellness in the breathtaking Glendalough, Beyond The Pale offers a unique and immersive experience. Expect a mix of electronic beats, indie bands and a super chilled-out atmosphere. This year, it will happen from 13th to 15th of June.

 

 

 

Body & Soul (Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath)

Another boutique gem, Body & Soul combines musicimmersive art and wellness experiences in a magical setting.  It's known for its eclectic line-up and truly unique festival vibe. Save the Date! June 20th to 22nd

Dublin Pride Festival (Dublin)

Get ready to celebrate a decade of progress!  Ten years on from Ireland's historic votes for marriage equality, the Gender Recognition Act, and the Children and Family Relationships Act, Dublin Pride 2025 is set to be extra special.  It's a chance to mark these monumental achievements for LGBTQ+ rights in Ireland, while also acknowledging that the fight for equality continues.  Join the vibrant celebration of music, diversity and love on Saturday, June 28th for the March and Parade (my personal favourite - Yeah, that's me on my best Butterfly outfit!).

 

 

The entire festival runs from the 20th to the 28th of June, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Expect colourful parades, fantastic performances and a whole lot of prideTogether we are stronger, together we WIN!

 

 

Bram Stoker Festival (Dublin)

Calling all Halloween enthusiasts and lovers of all things spooky!  The Bram Stoker Festival is back, celebrating the legendary Irish author of Dracula with a gothic twist. Get ready for four days and nights of delightfully dark adventures as Dublin embraces its gloriously gothic side this Halloween weekend. From Friday, 31st October to Monday, 3rd November 2025, expect a thrilling programme of gothic-themed events, music and performances. It's a must for anyone who loves a good scare!

 

Another Love Story (Killyon Manor, Co. Meath)

For those who prefer a more intimate experience, Another Love Story is a must. This small festival focuses on music, art and community, with a focus on underground electronic acts and folk singers in a laid-back setting. Tickets are going fast, buy now! August, 23rd & 24th

 

New Year's Festival Dublin (Dublin)

End your year with a bang at this massive music celebration featuring top artists performing outdoor concerts in Dublin city centre.
