We’re feeling nostalgic for the lively, hilarious, and oh-so-social vibes of hostel life! While we wait to get back to those bustling days, we’re here to relive some of our favourite moments with you.
At our hostels, creating connections and sparking friendships between travellers from around the globe is at the heart of what we do. And how do we do it? By hosting small, chill events right on our premises! We provide the free food; our guests bring the good vibes — and maybe their favourite drinks too!
Sure, some start off a bit shy, but a round of pool, a foosball match, and a couple of laughs over beers quickly break the ice. Before you know it, everyone’s swapping travel stories and making memories to last a lifetime.
BBQ in the Beer Garden
Summertime at Gardiner House is pure magic! Our hostel, set in a charming old Georgian building that once served as a convent, offers guests a unique chance to enjoy the famous Chapel Experience. But that’s not all — our stunning beer garden is the ultimate summer hangout!
Bursting with colours, good vibes, and laughter, the garden becomes a lively hub where guests come together to relax, share stories, and soak up the sunshine. We can’t wait for the day we can all gather there again, enjoying those unforgettable sunny moments outdoors!
WE ♥ PIZZA NIGHTS!
Who doesn’t love pizza? It’s the ultimate crowd-pleaser and super easy to organize — especially when you’ve got a veggie option on the menu!
Our last pizza night at Gardiner House was back in February 2020, and it was made with extra love by our amazing chef from The Wooden House.
After the feast, we all gathered in the living room for drinks, laughs, and a friendly pool table tournament. Spoiler alert: it got competitive! Here’s the winning team in action (forgive the photo quality — it was hard-earned and totally worth sharing!). Cheers to more fun nights like this soon!
Snacks evening
We absolutely love hosting snack evenings at our cosy Garden Lane Backpackers, just a short stroll from St. Patrick's Cathedral!
Our kitchen, perched on the top floor with a lovely balcony, sets the perfect stage for evening events. Watching the sunset over Dublin while enjoying good food and great company? Pure magic! The views are breathtaking, and the charming glow of the city at dusk makes every moment unforgettable.

Movie night
Movie nights are the perfect cure for those chilly winter evenings! While our Netflix is available 24/7 for guests, we also have a massive collection of DVDs in our cosy TV room (just check out the photo for proof!).
The best part? Guests get to pick the movie, and we take care of the popcorn. Once everything’s ready, it’s time to settle in and enjoy a night full of laughs, thrills, or even a tearjerker or two. Grab a blanket and join the fun!
FIFA tournament
We’ve hosted a few championships in our TV room, and they were always a blast! The winner walked away with a pack of beer — simple, fun, and guaranteed laughs, even if your skills weren’t up to scratch like mine.
This summer, we had so many exciting activities planned, but they’re on hold until we can safely return to our social lives.
